Event:
Like bubbly? This event will have different ones to try
For those who are not familiar with Prosecco, it is an Italian sparkling white wine from the Veneto area of north-eastern Italy. It can be a wine such as a spumante, frizzante, or tranquillo. It is made from Glera grapes, formerly known also as Prosecco, but other grape varieties may also be included.

If you like Prosecco or similar popular bubbly, then this is the event you have been waiting for! It will put you in a good mood and you will have a fun time here chatting with the makers and tasting their wares while you eat good food.

The festival is brought to you by Melissa Brauer (AKA The Prosecco Queen) and there will be a great selection of quality bubbles at this long-awaited festival, which will be dedicated solely to Prosecco.

It will be held on 23rd February 2019, 11.00 am to 8.00 pm at the Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre, 189 High St, Northcote. Tickets are from $50 to $100 and you can get yours here. Last year's event sold out and there were some people who were disappointed, so make your bookings as soon as possible.

At the Prosecco Festival, you will be able to meet the growers, winemakers and importers and taste some of the best Prosecco available in Australia today. There will be both Italian and local Australian Prosecco producers, as well as an Aperol Spritz Bar, wines by the glass, information on food matches with the wine, as well as stalls selling oysters, caviar and local cheeses.

There will be an outdoor piazza where you can have delicious Italian food such as pizza, pasta, arancini, antipasto, cheese platters, gelato, cannoli and more! The menu has been specially devised for the festival.

There will also be music at this event and each ticket includes a beautiful Plumm teardrop tasting glass which you are able to keep to take home afterwards.

There will be two session times available -11.00 am to 3.00 pm and 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm.

This year, there will also be a VIP session for each timeslot. This includes a 45 minute Prosecco masterclass with Melissa Brauer, where guests will taste 4 different styles of Prosecco paired with antipasto snacks. The masterclasses will be held on Level 1 in the main building and entry is through the glass doors in the main foyer.

There will be wine by the glass available via a token system. Each token is worth $10 and can be purchased on your way into the festival.

The Prosecco Festival is for adults over 18 only. This is due to licensing restrictions. This is going to be a fun day with great tastings and excellent food, so make sure you book now!
