Tucked between an array of shops and stairwells this tiny Lower East Side bakery is easy to miss. So be on the look out for a lonesome chalkboard with an inscription that reads something along the line of "these cupcakes are literally filled with booze", and follow the arrow.
Prohibition Bakery's inviting sidewalk entrance.
Upon entering the doors of this bakery it will soon become apparent that this is no ordinary bake house but rather a '
boozy cupcakery'. Indeed,
Prohibition Bakery bakes and serves on site a range of alcohol infused mini cupcakes.
Delicious bite size cupcakes.
Creations include; Mojito (lime, rum, mint), Pretzels & Beer (pale ale, Nutella, pretzel, white truffle), Pina Colada (dark rum, fresh pineapple, toasted coconut), and an Old Fashioned (whisky, bitters, orange, whisky soaked cherry), as well as a whole range of other exciting concoctions.
A box of Prohibition Bakery's mini treats to go.
The cupcakes ($2.50 each) are quite simply delicious and bite size so you won't feel guilty sampling a few. Although the bakery is incredibly inviting it is rather on the small side, therefore it's best to grab a little brown paper box filled with a few flavours to go.
