Brookfield Garden Centre is about 30 minutes from the city centre and it is an oasis of plants, tasteful accessories and some gorgeous artefacts for your garden. Adjoining it is Wild Canary, a restaurant which prides itself on using local produce and showcasing Queensland and it will be doing all of that on the 25th of February 2016 for its first Producers Lunch of the year from the Lockyer Valley. So combine a visit to the garden centre with a booking for lunch and make a special day of it.
The Lockyer Valley located less than an hour from Brisbane is the perfect place for a day trip, weekend or family holiday.
It is an area rich in agriculture and known as the Salad Bowl of Queensland. It is home to top quality local producers who work hard to create unique and exciting products. Their products are often seen at shows such as Regional Flavours (Southbank, Brisbane), Ekka (RNA Showgrounds, Brisbane) and the Good Food & Wine Show (Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre). Top chefs love locally made gourmet goodies and fresh full-flavoured fruit and vegetables.
So the Producers Lunch is a unique opportunity to try some of this produce brought directly to you.
Head Chef Glen Barratt has matched a five course degustation menu to showcase the produce from this fertile area.
Rob & Trudy Bauer from Bauer's Organics, Melissa Sheppard from Mormor Foods & Yubee from UB's Farms will be in attendance to speak about their products.
Thursday 25th February from 11.30am for 12 o'clock start.
Tickets $69 - includes 5 Course lunch.
Wine flight package additional.
