Melbourne will be holding the premiere season of Private Peaceful at Chapel off Chapel from 3 to 8 September. Coinciding this one-man play is being staged during 2019 Legacy Week.

From the author of War Horse, Michael Morpurgo book has been adapted for the stage by Simon Reade.

It relives the life of Private Tommo Peaceful, who's a young First World War soldier awaiting the firing squad at dawn. During the night he looks back at his short but joyful past growing up in rural Devon.

This heart-wrenching production looks at Tommo's peaceful life in the dappled fields of his West Country village, the accident that killed his father, his first romantic love and his nightmarish journey through the killing fields of The Great War.

Starring in this solo show is Melbourne's own Anthony Craig. A film of Private Peaceful was released in 2012 starring Jack O'Connell.

Come along to see the award-winning drama of Private Peaceful which will be having a brief season at Chapel off Chapel from 3 to 8 September, 2019.
