Dinner with kangaroos, dessert with koalas
Sitting at a lovely set table, wine in one hand, the scent of my crab linguine wafting from my plate, I could have been at any 5 star restaurant, but something was different. As movement catches my eye, a couple of kangaroos come for a closer look, stop, then go on eating their own meal. Private dinner at Wild Life Sydney Zoo - what an experience!
Choosing what to eat while the kangaroos watch on
If you're looking for something unique and memorable then dinner at Wild Life Sydney Zoo is it. Not only is it private, but it is an experience like no other.
The evening begins when the general public have left and the doors have been closed. Instructions tell you to go to the entrance and call a mobile number to let them know you have arrived. It feels special instantly and VIP, as they unlock the doors and you are greeted by your own Wildlife keeper, who will be with you all night for your private, behind closed doors tour.
So I'm not going to kid you - if you are scared of snakes or bugs, then you might want to tell your keeper, but it's all part of the experience so embrace it! We were lucky enough to be introduced to the reptiles and insects which we really enjoyed. We were able to stop wherever we wanted and have all our questions answered.
The best thing about the park was every animal, insect and creature is native to Australia, so it's an amazing place to take tourists or even to learn more about the different animals that inhabit this great country of ours.
We made our way to the kangaroo walk, where through the windows we saw a lovely table. We were greeted by 2 wait staff who took our drinks orders and were available for our every need for the rest of the night. They were attentive without being intrusive and you knew they were just nearby if you needed them.
We had a 2-course menu, main and dessert. There is a good range of dishes available from steak to pork, seafood and chicken. We decided on the Crab Linguine and Salt and Pepper Squid.
The total experience was amazing and like nothing we have ever done before. From the moment we walked in the door, we were given the VIP treatment. To have the whole zoo to ourselves, our own wildlife expert to guide us through, private wait staff, lovely food and beverages, dining with the kangaroos and dessert with the koalas, it went beyond our expectations.
Whether you're here visiting Australia or have lived in this country all your life, I recommend coming and experiencing a private dinner at Wild Life Sydney Zoo.
