Typical Gemini, with the concentration span of a gnat & not one for sitting still. My old Da used to say that "you're a long time dead". So my mantra is get busy living. Please join me for more at brizzymaysbooksandbruschettasite.wordpress.com

If you are in need of whimsy and inspiration for your garden
I thought that at this stage of my life I was cynical enough to ignore gimmicky marketing. Turns out I was wrong. Dead wrong. Driving through Capalaba recently on Old Cleveland Road, a colourful road sign immediately grabbed my attention on the corner of Camrose Street with directions to Princess Fancy-Plants Nursery. How can you ignore a venue called Princess Fancy-Plants, I ask you!

Located off Camrose Street at 219 Sunnydene Road, Chandler, this nursery and garden centre is a delight to walk through as it is both colourful and spacious. Space is good in a nursery because it allows you to better view what is on offer, don't you find?

There is an extensive variety of healthy shrubs and trees on display including grasses, bird and bee attracting plants, natives, fruit trees, and ground covers. Honestly, I recommend a visit to see for yourself the variety of plants available. Besides, a walk through any garden in bloom makes you feel better, doesn't it?

I went with a clear idea of what I wanted to purchase but having spoken to the very knowledgeable and helpful Bev my original plan went out the window after a discussion about what would better suit my needs. Aren't these white hanging pots just gorgeous?

Down the back of the property is an area that showcases indoor plants, and plants as "living gifts" which are just delightful. There is a range of pots and planters, as well as bird feeders that would be perfect for the smaller garden. Mulches and potting mixes are also available.

Walking around a garden centre is always therapeutic and I was delighted to discover that Gift Certificates are available (putting hand up for Mothers Day, please!).

Princess Fancy-Plants has an informative website - see here - and a Facebook Page that showcases those plants which are often harder to source.

Opening hours are:

SAT    9 am - 4 pm

SUN    9 am - 1 pm

 MON   9 am - 1 pm

TUE     9 am - 1 pm

WED    9 am - 1 pm

THU    By appointment

FRI       9 am - 1 pm

Yes, the name of the business may have pulled me in but it was all that living colour that won me over. Fingers crossed I can keep all plants alive.

Back soon, Princess Fancy-Plants!

Walking through plant nurseries is always therapeutic May. We tend to imagine all those wonderful plants in our garden, even if we haven't room for them.
