[BREAK]

Sadly, this year we lost legends David Bowie and Prince, two great men loved by many, unequivocally leaving behind musical legacies that have forever altered and redefined the music world. [BREAK]

These free spirits were pioneers that inspired generations of artists to push the boundaries of music genres as we know them.

Each selling over 100 million records, Prince and David Bowie shared many other similarities; both were singers, song writers, multi instrumentalists, record producers and actors and both were high up on the Rolling Stone Magazine's '100 Greatest Artists of All Time' list (Prince ranked 27th and David Bowie ranked 39th).

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, David Bowie's bio hailed him as 'rock's foremost futurist' and a 'chameleon, and transformer'. Similarly in 2004 when Prince was inducted, his bio accurately suggested that he 'rewrote the rule book'.

Below videos depict the unbounded nature of their craft, small glimpses of their creative capacities:

To help commemorate these men and their life's work a '' will be hosted at the Factory Theatre Marrickville, Friday June 10th. This will be a great opportunity to honour two creative geniuses simultaneously as we revel in a night of reminiscing while we rediscover the favourite songs that have influenced our hearts and captivated our imaginations over many decades.

Ensuring we celebrate right is special guest DJ Andrew Khedoori, music director of 2SER who recently contributed to the immense success of the Bowie Tribute hosted earlier this year in Hyde Park that saw a turnout of over 6,000 people.

Tickets are on sale now for $19.99 (plus booking fee) which you can purchase online and the proceeds will be split evenly between two remarkable Not for Profit charities, Street Buffet and Starfish Foundation.

Feeding our homeless since 2010, Street Buffet are a team of dedicated volunteers that provide food and support to the homeless in the Kings Cross area every Sunday. For more details or to find out how you can help or volunteer you can click here .
