The 2012 festival runs til 3 November 2012 and features a wide range of large-scale events, performances, exhibitions and activities that will dazzle attendees from around Perth and regional Western Australia.

The 2012 program caters for the whole community with an impressive mix of events running throughout the Community Festival and PRIDEFEST week. The festival kicks off with the family Fair Day and concludes with the illustrious Pride Parade.

Pride WA is a not-for-profit arts organisation that runs the annual PRIDEFEST festival. It was originally established in 1989 as Perth& #700 ;s first gay and lesbian focused organisation,
and has gone on to become one of the Perth most diverse and forward thinking organisations. Pride WA has run the festival for 23 years, with a strong focus on the arts, local music, community issues and politics.

Their mission is to encourage the cultural expression and celebrate, champion and support the rights and freedoms of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and other same sex attracted people living in Western Australia.

PRIDEFEST is an exciting festival showcasing the arts, culture, politics and rich history of WA& #700 ;s diverse sexuality and gender community. The festival will run until 3 November and features a wide range of large-scale events, performances, exhibitions
and activities that will draw crowds from around Australasia to Perth.



Lisa Scaffidi, Lord Mayor of Perth said: "This year& #700 ;s Pridefest signifies an exciting time for Perth& #700 ;s LGBTIQ community, treating
up to over a month of broad-ranging activities, from film festivals to live performance, photo exhibitions, theatre, and discussion forums."

GET FROCKED
DATE: 19 October, 7:30pm
TICKETS: $20 for members, $25 for non-members
LOCATION: Eliot Street Bar, Bunbury
Hosted by Val Nourished
Get Frocked is presented by one of Perth's most loved and valued Drag Talents, Val Nourished. Val has 10 years of fantastic performance experience and choreographs
the majority of her own shows. Get Frocked is one of her own designed and run shows and returns to Bunbury after previous success. Get Frocked will provide you with laughter, brilliant performance and unstoppable entertainment.

GFEST
DATE: 20 October, 5pm
TICKETS: $40 presale $45 on the door, 18 event
LOCATION: Geraldton, Greenough Historical Settlement, Brand Highway
Pride Midwest presents an Evening Performance Extravaganza. Join the performers for an evening of provocative performances, enticing art exhibitions, fine food and wine and interactive arts experiences. Featuring Lisa Adam as Amy Housewine, Sugar Blue Burlesque and a Priscilla Drag Show.

FILM FESTIVAL
DATES: 22 – 26 October

LOCATION: Rooftop Movies, Northbridge
Run in partnership with Rooftop cinemas, the film festival will include a range of films to suit every taste. In the perfect surroundings of the rooftop cinemas in Northbridge this is
a perfect evening out.



PRIDEFEST LAUGHS
DATES: 24 – 27 October
TICKETS: $25 members/$20 concession, $30 non-members/$25 concession
LOCATION: Downstairs At His Maj
Featuring Rhys Nicholson (Syd) and triple J& #700 ;s Tom Ballard (Syd) this four night comedy showing is the newest edition to the PRIDEFEST program. Rhys opens on the 24 and 25
of October supported by Perth& #700 ;s Andrea Gibbs. Tom joins us straight from Sydney to close the comedy aspect of the festival with two nights on the 26 and 27. Be prepared for Downstairs at His Maj is a small, intimate venue with limited tickets available.

WIGSTOCK
DATE: 27 October 3pm – 10pm
TICKETS: Free, 18 event.
LOCATION: bamboo, Highgate
Featuring Val Nourished, Barbie Q and Feminem
Presented by the City of Vincent, Wigstock hits Perth for the first time, modelled on the event held in New York to celebrate Labour Day. This year Wigstock brings you 6 hours of continuous drag shows entertaining you from start to finish. The outdoor setting on bamBoo brings the perfect atmosphere to an original performance, boasting some of Perth& #700 ;s best Drag talent.
This is a free community event with food and drinks available for purchase on site.

PRIDEFEST YOUTH PARTY
DATE: 27 October, 6pm
TICKETS: $15, strictly U18 event. Tickets available from www.pridefestwa.com.au
LOCATION: YMCA HQ, Leederville
The Youth Party is back and ready to wow the U18& #700 ;s of the LGBTI community. You get all you could want from a party with DJ& #700 ;s and performances throughout the night. This is strictly drug and alcohol free event.

PRIDEFEST PARADE
DATE: 3 November, 8pm
TICKETS: Free, All ages
LOCATION: Northbridge
Held on November 3 the parade attracts tens of thousands of people to the streets of Northbridge and is a flagship event for Pride WA and the WA community itself. Each year it includes over 50 floats that represent many aspects of the community, including community groups, government departments, businesses, youth groups, educational bodies, and individuals
The parade runs from the corner of William and Brisbane St to the corner of James and Parker St and over the past two years has attracted over 100,000 spectators. The PRIDEFEST Parade initiates the closing of the 2012 festival.
Join the crowds to celebrate the community, who we are, how define ourselves and join us in a night of complete celebration.
