Well it's that time of year again and a balmy spring Saturday saw the 22nd annual Pride Parade in the City and the ever-popular after party at The Court Hotel. Wicked, Grease, Rocky Horror and Chicago were the themes this year, resulting in more glitter, glamour and time-warping than ever and the outdoor stage on James St kept everyone on their feet with headlining acts DJ Lucy Lashes and Zoe Badwi.
It was an entertainment packed night running till the wee hours of Sunday morning, with sideshow games, hotdog stands and a bouncy castle adding to the fun and fantastical atmosphere. With multiple stages, DJs and performers, there was no excuse not to jump on the floor and get your Grease Lightning and YMCA on. Despite all bars being open, there were huge lines for drinks, however all of the staff were friendly and efficient as usual, which made up for the wait times caused by thirsty crowds.
You don't have to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender to come to The Court, all are welcome who just want to have a good time. The crowd is friendly and the atmosphere is always fun with your favourite tunes to dance and sing along to. Don't be afraid to don a rainbow flag and get your pride on.
