If you have heard of the pride festival going on in Perth, then you must know about the grand finale.WA's famous Pride Parade will walk the streets of Northbridge this weekend, with thousands of people participating in the biggest night of the year.

The Pride Parade was originally staged in the 90s as a march to protest against State Government laws that discriminated lesbians and gay Australians.

Over the years, the parade grew and has now become a spectacular display for the gay community. Highlighting the inequalities before the law and changing the public opinion. While still highlighting important issues, the parade is now a huge spectacle in WA.

The pride parade is the finale and the closing event of the Pride Festival, which this year focused on age and relationships and the theme being 'For our Community'.

Pride WA has allowed free entry for all community groups into this year's parade allowing many people to participate.

Gays on bikes will be leading the parade, followed by over 50 floats, greatly designed, representing many aspects of the community.

Last year's parade attracted over 40,000 visitors to watch the parade in Northbridge. Once again the streets of Northbridge will be filled of colours and movement.

Even though the parade is now a great show, keep in mind the original reason of the parade to keep things changing.

The parade will start at 8pm sharp on James Street, before Parker Street. It will go through William Street before finishing at Russell Square on Brisbane Street.
