The Shrine of Remembrance is an iconic pay your respects mecca at the Kings Domain right near the Royal Botanical Gardens. Pay your respects for those who served for us in the major world wars; otherwise our chances of living in a free country (as we are currently living in right now) would be remote.

A beautiful oasis to visit and take a bit of time out in quiet reflection and the exhibition downstairs at the Eastern Visitor Centre brings further food for thought. A great history lesson of show and tell of those Victorians who served for us (particularly in the Australian Navy) well over 100 years ago.

It is great to boast an exhibition such as this one to bring recognition and credit to the achievements and sacrifices of those who served at sea for us. The proud traditions of the navy are prominent with an abundance of medals on show. It is great to observe (quite popular as well with a generous turnout upon checking this exhibition out) that the 'silent service' are finally being recognised through this way.
