Help a town celebrate in style
Price is a pleasant town on the Yorke Peninsula, and on the weekend of the 6th and 7th of August, 2022, the township will be celebrating its 140th anniversary as a town.

To commemorate this occasion, a free community event is being held in the town over the weekend, with the entire town involved.

For the two days, there will be events, displays and fun for the whole family. Entry is free, except for certain events and displays.

Amongst the events are
a tractor pull event
the opening of the old school time capsule
vintage fashion parade
wheat sheaf tossing
Price School reunion on Saturday
Drumming Monkeys Show on Sunday (for children)
Glenn the Junk Man on Sunday (for children)

The Tractor Pull is being organised by the newly formed YP Classic & Vintage Tractor Pull Club (you can find them on Facebook). The hope is to make this an annual event and to promote the restoration of old farm vehicles

The displays include
Photo display in the Soldiers' Memorial Hall
Vintage and Classic cars, trucks and motorcycles
Steam engines

Also, there will be various talks in the clubrooms, on topics such as working on the ketches, coastal birds and a Thermomix Cooking demonstration.

The Wheatsheaf Hotel will be open during the weekend, but bookings will be required for meals. Please note, that the event is not BYO alcohol.

In addition to everything else, there will be market stalls running, hot drinks and food, and the town has recently had a number of new historical markers put in place. You can also go for a drive down the causeway to the jetty and the new photo-frame billboard at the water's edge.

The Price caravan park is already full, but alternate accommodation can be found at the Port Clinton Caravan Park, seven kilometres up the road, and in various places at Ardrossan, 15 kilometres to the south.

The weekend promises to be a fun, friendly occasion to celebrate a town that is often not thought of. Hopefully, this will change that.
