You can't miss the
South Yarra store as it looms
Pretty in Pink on
Chapel Street. Just three years after first being established in
Northbridge, Western Australia by founder
Brittany Garbutt at the age of 23, Pretzel now has five stores in Perth, soon to be three in Melbourne, and plans to open in Sydney and Brisbane this year as well. A family of pretzel enthusiasts, they're spreading the love of dough during these tough times and want to assure their customers that each order comes with wet wipes, and hand sanitiser is available in each store across Victoria and WA.
These artisan dough twisters will continue to spread the joy and serve their twisted treats in their signature
Grand Budapest Hotel-esque takeaway boxes and are taking hygiene incredibly seriously during this time. Freshly baked out of their pretty pink stores, Pretzel aims to evoke happiness and the joy of creating new and unique eating experiences. The doughy joy of a freshly baked pretzel with tasty toppings of choice including sweet, savoury and vegan options on the 16-piece menu is hard to beat. It's a time to act sensibly, support each other and find little reasons to keep on smiling.
Pretzel has the versatility of filling a snack desire or being a meal unto itself. Did you know it takes 6 months to learn how to roll a pretzel? It's all about the dough and technique, which is why
Pretzel have spent hours perfecting their recipe to make sure your pretzel is up to scratch each and every visit. It's the
Pretzel promise! Select your favourite flavour and let the dough bosses prep your handmade, artisan baked pretzel, right there on site! Handmade and freshly baked means there could be a 15 minute wait, however it's not an issue when you can watch the process of your pretzel being made before your every eyes. '
If I can create a great store and give people 30 minutes of fun, that's what I want. I just want people to be happy!' - Brittany Gambutt.
My moment of happiness and throwing caution to the wind came in the form of a
Cheese and Pepperoni (three cheese mix and mild pepperoni pieces) savoury pretzel and a sweet
Salted Caramel pretzel covered in a rich caramel sauce. Caramel being my favourite flavour, I ate that first and was in heaven chowing down on that lovely light pretzel oozing with rich condensed milk like caramel sauce. In light of eating dessert before mains so to speak, I actually needed a bigger hit of flavour and should have gone for
The Lot (three cheese mix, pepperoni, bacon and Jalapeno) as a chaser to the heavenly caramel. I wish I had got two caramels.
If you prefer to keep it simple in the savoury sector, the
Original would do you for just $5, or you could go up a notch and have
Cheese and Garlic For $6. In between there's also the
Salted and
3 Cheese pretzel. Having
The Lot of course would be the substantial meal end of the scale. The
Cheese and Pepperoni I had was more of a pretzel pizza dream, but you could go spicy with the
Chipotle and Cheese with three cheese mix, jalapenos and oh so smokey chipotle aioli.
If you're looking to indulge your sweet tooth, treat yourself to a
Coconut Rough with premium white chocolate and toasted coconut. If you're feeling more nutty on the day, the
Peanut Butter and Oreo is the one to try with smooth peanut butter and Oreo cookie dust on it. You could also level up with the
Cinnamon Glazed pretzel that's cinnamon covered in a vanilla cream cheese filling. Other indulgences include
Nutella smothered pretzel,
Cookies and Cream with premium white chocolate and
Mint Slice made from 50% milk and 50% dark peppermint chocolate and mint slice cookie crumbs.
With both savoury and sweet pretzels, you can purchase additional add ons like extra toppings, ketchup, mustard, garlic aioli and so on, and in the sweet, extra caramel, cream cheese glaze, Nutella, cookie dust, white chocolate and more. Be warned, having a pretzel could lead to desiring a nice hot cup of coffee after.
