Pretty Happy – Book Review

Kate Hudson's first book Pretty Happy is all about discovering healthy ways to love your body. The book has full-colour photos of Kate looking boho in her home. She writes about wellness topics like exercise, self-image, eating well, mindfulness and cleansing.

Kate is a big believer in Ayurveda, a system of medicine which originated and is practiced mainly in India. There is a handy body type questionnaire to find out which of three different dossa you may be. The next chapter talks about some cognitive behavioural therapy exercises and positive thinking. Throughout the book there are little exercises you can do to improve your health and life. These are meant to be written down in your drawing board (a journal of sorts).

There is also a stress and mindfulness questionnaire. Kate promotes the benefits of meditation and mindfulness – a hot trend at the moment. Just bare in mind you need to do a minimum of twenty minutes to facilitate the full relaxation response.

If you are intrigued to learn more about Ayurveda, then this may be the book for you. Kate Hudson's book is pretty ok.

Pretty Happy is available in softcover from your favourite bookseller.
