Pregnancy Loss Australia (PLA) is a national support program for bereaved families who suffer with the loss of their babies. The program is designed to provide teddy bears to parents who have lost their little ones, while still in hospital. The aim is to ensure that they are cared for, respected and do not leave the hospital with empty arms.

The bears are often a support for the difficult times ahead. In addition to the bears, Pregnancy Loss Australia provides information packages to help with information about support services and ways to cope.

Pregnancy Loss Australia is run by volunteers from all walks of life, who have themselves lived with their own tragedies of little lives lost.

It is a very important service that deserves support from the whole community, as they also assist in raising much needed funding, so that the organisation can continue growing. This way no one is left behind to cope with the loss on their own.

This year PLA will be hosting their 5th annual Victorian Walkathon , in memory of those precious little lives lost. With the highlight being a balloon release to celebrate the lives of those lost.

DATE: Sunday the 14th of September 2014

LOCATION: Ruffy Lake Park, Doncaster, Victoria

TIME: 11:30am start with registration commencing from 10:00am

ACCESS: Access to the Walkathon is off The Boulevard, on George Street

WALK/RUN: You can choose to either walk or run around Ruffy Lake

DISTANCE: 2.5km per lap

LAPS: You can choose to undertake 1, 2 or even challenge yourself to complete 3 laps

LAP TIME: If you decide to walk, each lap will take you approximately 30 to 40 minutes to complete. Of course this time will vary depending on your pace and fitness level.

TICKETS: Tickets can either be purchased on the day before registration, or directly from the Pregnancy Loss Australia website.
• INDIVIDUAL - 1 Adult or Child = $20
• FAMILY - 2 Adults and up to 4 Children = $50
• CORPORATE - Min 6 people = $15 Per Person

PRIZES: Prizes are given out to individual people, families and organisations that raise the highest amounts for their walk.
1st prize – 2 nights
2nd and 3rd prizes - $50.00 Westfield vouchers

TICKET PRICES:
Single (1x adult or 1x child): $20.00
Family (2 adults and max. 4 children): $50.00
Corporate (min 6 people): $15.00 per person

ENTERTAINMENT: Jumping castle, face painter, animal farm, pony rides, raffle, belly dancers, dog trick show, butterfly display and markets stalls, plus many other things for the whole family to enjoy.

FOOD: Sausage sizzle, cold drinks, hot coffee and cupcakes.

Remember this is a voluntary organisation, so every dollar helps.
