What is unexpected is the fantastic atmosphere created to make this location into a favourite brew pub.
This week they have been a little devastated by the power outages caused by the unseasonal tropical storms reaching Adelaide from the northern monsoon. When I visited for a meal and a glass of wine (yes, they have an excellent local wine list) I was surprised to learn they had lost a lot of food and were having to provide only a limited "make do" menu.
Well, the food was plentiful and tasty, the wine was excellent, and the ever popular beer flights were making a roaring trade.
There were locals, tourists a from near and far who had followed this places growing the reputation for atmosphere and service. I certainly enjoyed chatting to a lovely Japanese couple who were enjoying the beer menu and preparing for a Kangaroo Island trip the next day.
