Looking for an old style nursery with a wide selection of quality plants and a yummy café to boot? Then head over to Poyntons Nursery in Essendon. Situated on a sloping block, the nursery is well laid out for the weekend browser with a wide selection of plants easily located with large signs including but not limited to trees, shrubs, flower and vegetable seedlings, herbs, indoor plants, Australian natives, fruit and citrus and bonsai.

Plenty of plants for every garden
Poyntons stocks a wide range of garden accessories including sculptures, even the odd garden gnome or two, and glazed pots in all colours and sizes to suit that tricky garden space.
As with many nurseries these days, Poyntons isn't only about plants, there's the café well frequented by locals taking advantage of the views across Maribyrnong river as they sip their coffees. And if you are still in the mood for further browsing, underneath is the picturesque homewares and furniture shop with such pretty things.

Such pretty things to choose from
This isn't the cheapest nursery in town with tube stock heading up towards $6, but if you've got time for a good browse followed by a yummy latte, Poyntons is sure to keep you happy. I visited on a Saturday and the place was busy, I also know where I'm taking Mum next time she visits.
