We often take for granted how fantastic the Brisbane Powerhouse Museum is and what interesting and diverse activities and events they hold. One activity that never disappoints is the Free Powerkids: Little Artists At Play weekly activities. Every Tuesday morning from 9am to noon, Alinta, a freelance entertainer takes littlies from 0 to 5 years old, on a musical adventure with her animal friends. Alinta blends First Nation language with funk, reggae and soul music accompanied with native Australian animals for all littlies to love. Alinta's storytelling is a mix of music and theatre that, introduces the little audience members to Gaga Gecko, the dancehall master and Lizzie the Water Dragon.
This is a perfect time to chill out while keeping an eye on your little one as they laugh, smile and enjoy the entertainment. The good people at the Powerhouse have a chill-out area to rest and relax in for parents. Alinta is a regular fixture at many festivals including the Woodford Folk Festival and Anywhere Theatre Festival just to name a few. Powerkids run every Tuesday morning at the Turbine Platform, with performances starting every half hour from 9am, with its last at 11:30am.
