[ADVERT]I visit the Powerhouse Museum occasionally when special exhibitions are on. Checking in the Museum Cafe isn't on my radar as I normally focus on seeing the exhibitions.
However, I made an exception on my recent visit.
Upon stepping in the Museum Cafe, I was surprised to find out that the cafe is so spacious and refreshing by design; white tables and green chairs, with large windows on the sides and at the back. Sunlight came through the windows, uplifting my spirit and mood greatly.
More exciting for me was when my light meal and coffee arrived. I didn't expect that the home-made pepper steak pie ($11) was so nicely presented with mash, green peas and baby onions on the sides. The taste was fantastic.
Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are served at the cafe (free wireless internet is available). If you're a sweet tooth, you won't be disappointed as a wide selection of cakes and tea sets are available to satisfy your taste buds. Price ranges from $7.50 to $12 for afternoon tea.

Adjacent to the cafe, you can find the Museum Shop carrying a wide array of items - art books, magazines, jewellery, decorative items and much more. Some items are unique, that you won't be able to find in other shops. Simply browsing the shop would certainly be a joy to you. The Powerhouse Museum shop opens daily 10am to 4.30pm.
