I think about exercising a lot more than I do it. I often think that I should go for a run, join a gym or spend an hour of my day doing squats and sit-ups. I don't know if it's laziness or the fact that it takes so long to see results that always makes me palm it off to another day. Recently I tried Power Plate at Body Transformation Centre in Balmain. I had never heard of Power Plate training before but after I discovered you can do a full body workup in less than 30 minutes, I knew I had to try it.
Power Plate training is a revolutionary way to exercise. The epicentre of it all is the incredible Power Plate equipment that you use. It's a circular platform with a panel with handles on it. Sounds simple enough right? The key is in the vibrations. This machine uses vibrations to transmit waves of energy through your body, which in turn make muscles contract rapidly. The result- toned muscles and flexibility, fast.
The initial test for me was when the trainer asked me to try and touch my toes. I tried and failed. A little worried about my poor effort, I then proceeded to follow his instructions of placing one heel on the machine and lightly grip onto my toe, stretching my leg muscles. The machine was turned on and I could feel the vibrations pulsing through my leg. It felt like I was in the middle of a workout already. I was then instructed to do the same to my other leg. The instructor then asked me to try and touch my toes again. I did so with ease. I could even put my hands flat on the ground. I was amazed. All that flexibility from 30 seconds of stretching on each leg. Normally that would take me a good 15 minutes of stretching.
Once I wiped the dumbfounded look off my face we proceeded to do a series of movements such as squats, lunges and various other moves I didn't even know I had the strength to do. It was brilliant. I could feel my muscles working without putting any strain on my joints of without feeling terribly slimy and sweaty.
It was the best workout I've had in a very long time and not only did it take less than 30 minutes but I felt completely exhilarated afterwards. It actually lifted my mood, it made me feel happy.
Power Plate exercise is great for muscle strength, flexibility and best of all it decreases cellulite. It is also known to speed up your metabolism and improve circulation. Its not only exercise for your body, it promotes overall good health.
