Cool Clay Creations
Ceramics was my favourite subject in high school. I studied it from year 7 to 10, learnt many different techniques and made many wonderful creations. But how many Sunny Coasters know about the Potters Group in Buderim?
During 7th October to 16th October 2016, the Buderim Craft Cottage will be presenting its annual Sculptured Garden exhibition. Interior and exterior sculptures will be on display, including ceramic wall art and more functional pieces of pottery. Hosted by the Potters Group of Buderim Craft Cottage, the exhibition has been an annual event since 1997.
The Sculptured Garden exhibition will be held at the Atrium Gallery, Buderim Cottage, 5 Main St Buderim from 9am to 4pm. A car park off Church St provides direct access to the gallery. Entry is free and all artworks are for sale to the public.
The theme for this year's exhibition is "Rhythms". Besides pottery, some artists have incorporated glass, metal and wood into their creations. Food and refreshments will be available both weekends in the shady courtyard next to Memorial Hall and Craft Cottage gardens. The exhibition's second weekend is also an opportunity for the public to visit Buderim's famous Spring Garden Festival at the Memorial Hall and other venues.
