The Harry Potter book series is the biggest selling book series worldwide of all time. No exceptions, and by quite a wide margin. Approximately 500 million books have been sold to date. If you've never heard of Harry Potter, then there's a good chance that you're an alien spy who received the training for the wrong planet. It happens, administrative errors aren't exclusive to the human race, you'd be amazed at the sorts of mistakes those intergalactic bureaucrats make.

Anyway, this isn't about aliens, but something a little more far fetched. Magic, spells, "You're a wizard, Harry" etc. etc. The world JK Rowling is the latest subject receiving the improv treatment from Brisbane impro power-house ImproMafia. At the Powerhouse, no less.



In a show that requires as much knowledge of the Potter universe as Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead requires an intimate knowledge of Hamlet, the intrepid improvisers will deconstruct the original in ways that even a muggle can enjoy.

Audience suggestions will be used to decide how the show plays out giving each and every performance its own unique twist, with the hilariousness that only improv can create. If you like your comedy unpredictable and side-splittingly funny, then this is the show for you.

With a description like "Discover the dirty little secrets that supporting characters don't want you to know and find out what goes on when Harry isn't around", how can you not be excited for the juicy contents that awaits? What else can those wands do?

The show is part of this year's Brisbane Comedy Festival at the Powerhouse featuring some of the best comedy that Brisbane and the world has to offer. Who knows, maybe some of the performers aren't even from this planet. In the world of improv, you never know what's going to happen.
