Sometimes money is no object or perhaps there is someone you are really wanting to impress and you are looking for a great no holds barred restaurant. There are many special treats available for dining out in Melbourne with wonderful haute cuisine offerings throughout the city and the suburbs.
It is actually more difficult to list just 3 of them, than to give you a list of hundreds, as there are so many great choices. However, to narrow it down to 3 in this article here are some suggestions for you.
Keep in mind that many of these will require advance bookings and that there are plenty of other options - this is just to give you a short list of inspiration.
Just off Smith Street you will find
Hell of the North. Don't be put off by this strange name and it is front doors which may appear to be a private residential house. Venture onwards and discover that behind these grandiose doors lies a wonderful little restaurant filled with boutique wines and exquisite dining experiences. Settle in amidst the wood and bluestone walls and delight in French-inspired dishes.Location: 135 Greeves St, Fitzroy VIC 3065. Click

Cutler and Co is located in a hip area filled with up and coming restaurants and it's a great choice for up market dining which has a distinctly Australian vibe, perfect if you are bringing overseas guests or overseas business clients. To add to the funky charm it is set in an old metalworks factory with an open kitchen where you can see the care going into your food.Location: 55–57 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065 Click

Not wanting to leave for vegans out of an up market dining experience head to Brunswick Street for
Smith and Daughters./ It is a funky place with an almost retro vibe which doesn't usually lend it self to a posh fining experience, especially with the food being completely vegan. However all dishes I have ever tried here are up market and exquisite in their presentation and taste.
We tried the dark chocolate truffles pâté and several other small dishes which we chose to share rather than a large main meal. Everything we tried was rich, decadent and delightful. Now keep in mind it is vegan, yet they nailed it as the rich, savoury pâté and the dark chocolate twist on it was sublime. Location: 175 Brunswick St, Fitzroy VIC 3065. Click

There are so many other places to share that pinning this down to a list of just 3 is extremely difficult, however hopefully these three have given you some new dining experiences.
