Now that Spring is upon us and the weather becomes clear, it's the perfect time to take a day trip down the Mornington Peninsula and make your final destination Portsea. More specifically, make your final destination The Portsea Hotel and make sure you get there for lunch.
Located on the Point Nepean Highway, nestled in amongst the beautiful oak trees and local boutiques, The Portsea Hotel offers patrons a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Head down when the skies are clear and relax on their terrace, taking in the expansive views of Port Phillip Bay and its surrounds. Or if the weather turns, as it has want during a Victorian Spring, stay inside and cosy next to the log fires. The Portsea Hotel also offers a sports bar, with two pool tables and the big screen to watch the finals on.
Prices range in the mid $20s for most dishes, expect to pay a little more, but it's worth it for the delicious seafood for which the area is known. Lunch and dinner is served from 12:00pm until 8:30 from Sunday to Thursday, until 9pm on a Friday and until 9:30pm on a Saturday. The Portsea Hotel also offers breakfast from 8:00am until 11:00am every day of the week.
Enjoy a good wine? Sample some of the finest local and overseas produce at the Portsea Hotel Wine Bar. The wine list is plentiful and covers everyone's tastes. Expect to pay a little more per glass or bottle though.
Overall, a trip to Portsea would not be complete without popping in to the Portsea Hotel to have a meal. And what better way to share it than with friends, a bottle of wine and the stunning views of Port Phillip Bay.
