I am an academic and writer living in Melbourne. I love to travel and I also love writing about all the things Melbourne, regional Victoria and other parts of Australia have to offer.
Dogs on parade
Does your dog like to dress up? Do you like to show off your beautiful pooch? Is your dog a noble breed like a Weimaraner or a Dalmatian, a family-friendly dog like a Golden Retriever, an Aussie Red Dog or simply an over exuberant mutt of mixed breed? Whatever the breed, size, colour and temperament all dogs (and their owners of course) are welcome at this new event Port's Paws Parade.
So make sure you and your canine companion come along to the inaugural Port Melbourne fun day out on Saturday, 22nd Ocober, 2016. You can both dress up - matching outfits perhaps? Or you can just come along to have some fun; this will be a day of competitions, entertainment and a chance to check out new and favourite products, especially for your dog. And of course, you and your dog can meet like-minded humans and canines and make new friends. Dog Central (bend of Crockford and Bay Street) is where all the action takes place, you will hear all the excited barking even before you get there.
The Dog Parade takes place between 11am-1pm and your dog could win a prize for the best-dressed dog and his/her owner. By registering you will be eligible to take part in the parade and be a potential winner.

There will be "goodie" dog food samples, dog face painting, an auction with proceeds going to the RSPCA, lots of food variety, a garage sale and entertainment for the whole family. And if you think your dog can do special tricks or even sing when you sing, you can enter him/her in the "So you think your Dog's got talent" competition.
