The 13th Annual Portarlington Mussel Festival is on Saturday 12 January 2019 from 9:30am to 5pm. With over 10 tonne of local mussels sold each your, you'll be able to taste the famous Portarlington mussels fresh from the sea.
There will be around 120 food, drink and market stalls, including local Bellarine beer and wine tastings. Work your way around all the different mussel dishes on offer and find a new favourite. Cooking demonstrations will be held in Rie's Kitchen providing you with plenty of great tips and ideas for whipping up your own mussel feasts at home.
Don't forget to head down to the pier. The mussel boats will be in action selling fresh mussels to take home and enjoy.
With local musicians playing across five different stages and roving entertainers and activities for the kids, it's a lot of fishy fun for the whole family. The headline act this year will be Kate Daley and Band celebrating the music of Fleetwood Mac. Plenty of old favourites are returning to entertain, plus some new acts to enjoy.
The much loved Classic Car Display will also be back with great classic cars and hot rods for you to admire and take selfies with.
Fabulous Vintage Car Display
At 2.30pm, head down to the pier to cheer on your favourite in the Portarlington Mussel Festival Mussel Cup sailing race. The race can also be watched from the foreshore.
Pick up some cooking tips
The Mussel Festival Art Show held in Paks Hall attracts around 30 artists from all over the Bellarine who display and sell their work on the day. Check out the diverse range of works - the variety of styles is always a popular festival event.
Art and Photo Exhibition
The festival is smoke-free, dog free, and BYO alcohol-free and for just $5.00 per adult (kids are free), it's a great day out.
