Kids love riding on ferries and trains. And with this great day excursion, they can do both.
The ferry departs from Docklands, Victoria Harbour Promenade, directly across the street from Marvel Stadium.
The trip takes 1.5 hours, slow cruising from Docklands to Williamstown then faster across the wider bay until you spot the beaches and hills of Portarlington. There are lots of opportunities for great views and photos: the Melbourne CBD skyline, and going under the Bolte Bridge and Westgate Bridge. And kids love seeing the large container ships and the tug boats. Adults do too!
