Portafilter is a charming, hole-in-the-wall style café that is rapidly becoming a favourite among the locals. Conveniently located right next to the train station on Hanbury Street, Mayfield, this café has become popular with the nearby residents & morning commuters on their way to work – and rightly so.

Upon arrival, the customer is greeted with a warm smile and friendly service by the staff. The seating options are limited, but the mismatched décor and quirky atmosphere make up for it in spades.

The menu is small but it packs a punch, offering items such as the vegan meatball sub, the 'black benny' breakfast roll, and the veggie burrito. It also offers the option to add cashew cheese to any order, so plant-based eaters, rejoice!

Additionally, there are some takeaway food options near the register, such as Nutella doughnuts, sandwiches & protein balls, so you can easily try something delicious, even when on the go.

This location is quickly becoming a neighbourhood hotspot, so make sure to try it out next time you're in the area & in the mood for a strong coffee and a cheap bite to eat!
