The former Port Willunga Jetty is one of the most photographed jetties along the Adelaide metropolitan coastline.
The jetty was first constructed in 1853 and then extended a few times to gain access to larger vessels in deeper waters. However a change in fortunes of local farmers in the late 19th Century saw the jetty frequented less often by ships, and eventually it fell in to a state of disrepair, before eventually falling foul to storms and surging seas.
Today there are a number of old pylons still standing, and with the sea, skies or cliffs as background, these make for some fantastic photography.
