Port Adelaide and the Port River is the home of the amazing .

The Port area is now part of the world renowned Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary , one of only a few places in the world where wild dolphins live within a major city.

Port Adelaide is approximately 14kms from the Adelaide CBD in South Australia.

The Port River dolphins are much loved and people flock to the river every day to catch a glimpse of them. There are regular boat cruises that leave the main dock, they're fantastic value and they have reported sightings most days.

Kayaking on the river is also a popular way to get up close and personal with the dolphins. There's so much of the river to explore - the amazing wetlands and the Ship's Graveyard are great attractions

While sightings are never guaranteed, with approximately 40 Bottle Nosed dolphins living in the area, the chances of catching sight of a dolphin or two are pretty high.

Spend the day at the Port, walk around the heritage wharfs and see if you can spot one of the dolphins - it's a great family day out and it wont cost a fortune!
