The Best Fringe Party Around
If you thought the Fringe Festival was all about the CBD and the Garden of Unearthly Delights, then let me expand your horizons. While the CBD and other nearby venues have an amazing atmosphere, why not head out to Port Adelaide and experience the Port Fringe Festival.
Saturday 24 February 2018 from 5 pm to 10 pm is the Port Fringe Street Party with all sorts of shenanigans going on around the Port from Commercial Road (North) and surrounds.
There will be sensational stars in the Fringe Caravan, and a stellar line up on the Big Stage. Giant puppets will be wandering around, along with artists, musos, muses, comedians, pranksters, foodies and funksters.
Enjoy the music of local artists such as Jimmy Mountain, with their alternative country music inspired by the mountain chill of the Americanas.
There will be all sorts of entertainment going on in nooks and crannies, that will be fun for the whole family.
As you will already be there for the Street Party, take the opportunity to see a show or two while you are there. Choose from the Port Adelaide Ghost Crime Tour, A Refugee Sings World Songs, Choo and Cheek, The Beautiful Bogan – Life's Not Fair or A Greek Tragedy 'Oedipus Rex – The King' (fees apply).
Why not come earlier in the day and treat the kiddies to Bumbles the Clown's Incredi-Bubble Show (11 am) or At the End of the Garden (1 pm) (fees apply).
The Port Fringe Street Party is free for all. Charges apply for some shows and events.
Commercial Road will be closed at St Vincent Street and at McLaren Parade, Divett Street and Nile Street will be closed at Commercial Road. All road closures will be in place from 10 am with roads reopening from 11.30 pm.
