Art and Fishing for June Long Weekend
It's on again! The historic little town of Port Broughton will be host to the Port Broughton Maritime Art Exhibition, to be held this June long weekend over Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th. The Art Exhibition will again be housed in the very centrally located Port Broughton Community Hall on the corner of Bay Street and McKay Street. Come along and see original works by local and not-so-local artists. There will be market stalls at the Community Hall, too. Don't forget to browse, and make a purchase of something truly unique!
If you are an artist, an emerging artist, an art student, or an aspiring artist, there is still time to enter your works for sale. Entry is free! Send in your entry form. Drop off your art on Friday (7th), and pay only 10% commission on any sales you make. Pick up unsold items after the Exhibition, on Monday (10th).
June Long Weekend in Port Broughton is also time again for the Family Fun Fishing Competition. Register at the Community Hall while you're there to check out the Art Show. There are a number of sections to compete in, including Jetty/Shore and Boat Sections, Most Variety of Fish, Longest Fish, and Mystery Prizes (find out on the day)! This is a Family Fun Event, "Fishing is Fun", and you can collect your FREE bag of goodies containing everything you will need to learn to fish! You can't beat that for value! Entry costs are a very low: Kids $1, Adults $3 and $5. Make a weekend of it this June Long Weekend at Pt Broughton. Bring your family for some great relaxing and bonding time, with art and fish and competition to ensure no-one misses out on the fun.
