Ghost Crime Tour - Port Adelaide
If you are interested in exploring the other world then this is absolutely the tour for you! Ghost Crime Tours located in Adelaide, South Australia provide walking tours of the Adelaide CBD, Port Adelaide and Kapunda. Reputedly for not for the faint hearted the Kapunda tour is yet to be undertaken by the writer (at the time of writing) but is believed to be one of the best ghost tours available.

Your ghost crime tour of Port Adelaide will commence at the entrance to the Port Dock Hotel. At the time of writing this tour started at 7.15 pm, giving you plenty of time to wander Port Adelaide and have dinner before the tour. We had a lovely dinner at the Birkenhead Tavern; just a few minutes from the tour location.

We were met at the beginning of the tour by the lovely Vicki, who had us captivated and entertained right from the start. After taking us upstairs in the Port Dock Hotel, Vicki explained to us the rules of engagement (house rules) and shared some interesting information about ghosts and paranormal activity. She even brought along a device to enable us to detect whether or not a ghost was present.

Following our brief introduction, we explored the area and where Vicki introduced us to the Madam, the Sailor and the boy. I could tell you what that is, but well that might ruin the tour for you!

We then went down into the basement to explore further. In the basement Vicki turned out the lights and allowed us to explore in the semi-dark. I took a number of photos in this location with the one below being one of the best. A shadowy figure can be seen on the left hand side which may or may not be a ghost. The interesting thing was that I took three photos within a few seconds of each other, the first and third of which showed the shadowy figure seen here, the second photo taken did not. You can make up your own mind on this, the jury is out!

From here, Vicki took us on a long walk around Port Adelaide stopping at particular spots to discuss various crimes that had occurred in the area and haunted buildings. This includes the haunted Bank of Adelaide building where the Bank Manager remains on duty, the building where a lady falls down the stairs every night at exactly 10.30 pm and the hotel were recent renovations were approved by the previous owner who had passed away many, many years before!

There are many stories which I have not mentioned here, you will just have to do the tour to hear them all.
