Christmas is coming, and it's a time of excitement and fun for kids all around South Australia. The Twilight Christmas Parade in Port Adelaide is one of the highlights for locals on the Lefevre Peninsula, attracting huge crowds of families from neighbouring suburbs including Semaphore and Largs Bay.
The annual Christmas pageant is one of the major Port Adelaide attractions, bringing many fun things to do to the streets of the historic Port. The Twilight Christmas Parade kicks off on Saturday November 19 at 6pm from Baynes Place (near the railway bridge) on Commercial Road, and passes through Black Diamond (lighthouse) Square before turning right onto St Vincent Street and finishing on Todd Street.

Canny kids are sure to be early to get the best view of all the colourful Christmas floats, marching bands playing carols, clowns and performers, and of course Father Christmas himself. Luckily the crowds aren't as packed as for the Credit Union Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, so you can take lots of photos for your family to remember in years to come.
The Twilight Christmas Parade is just the start of the evening's free entertainment though, with many more fun things to do at the Christmas Parade After Party. From 7pm in Lighthouse Square there's free live music and entertainment on stage, clowns and street performers mingling in the crowds, amusement rides, free things to do including face painting and the chance to get up close to Father Christmas in Santa's cave.

An awesome free fireworks show over the Port River at 9pm will be stunning. See the historic maritime buildings of the Port light up in brilliant colours, with Harts Mill, the Fishermens' Wharf market shed and the old Customs House awash with colour. It will be a stunning culmination for an evening of family fun things to do - truly a night to remember.
