Wine Tasting Events and Top Australian Wines present their Pork & Pinot Wine wine-tasting event on Sunday 5th July, 2015.

This special event will be hosted at one of Australia's most extraordinary dining rooms, The Grand Richmond, and showcase some of the world's finest Pinots, accompanied by delectable pork dishes.

Throughout the afternoon guests will enjoy a selection of six Pinots, along with a three-course lunch from the historic kitchen of The Grand Richmond.

ENTRÉE: Risotto with Guanciale Cured Egg. Paired with:

  • 2013 Haselgrove Bradan Pinot NoirAdelaide Hills, SA) -
    Aroma: Warm inviting dark cherry and redcurrant fruits with hints of rhubarb, blueberry and strawberry. Palate: Medium bodied, with primary fruits up front that linger. Great savoury palate. A perfect pork complement.

  • 2010 Nicholson River Winery 'NR' Pinot Noir (Bairnsdale, VIC) - A natural, delicate style displaying layers of spice and berry fruits.

    MAIN: "Three Little Pigs" - Confit Pork Belly with Mustard Sauce; Wood Smoked Ribs with Salsa Verde; & Sauteed Fillet with Apple Sauce. This selection of dishes will be accompanied with Rocket Salad and Roast Potatoes. Paired with

  • 2013 Brown Magpie Pinot Noir (Geelong, VIC) - The true essence of the cool climate oceanic terroir of the Surf Coast region. Vibrant ruby Pinot is a cherry bomb with notes of red currants and an exquisite bouquet of autumn leaves and black truffles. 2014 Boutique Sine Show — Best Wine in Show!

  • 2012 Nuiton-Beaunoy Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes De Beaune Pinot Noir (France) - With a purple "robe" with darker purple glints, this Pinot offers a wide palette of red and black fruit aromas (strawberry, red currant, black currant) with fine toasted nuances. Supple and delicate on tasting.

    CHEESE - A fine selection of dairy favourites as well as daring new tastes. Paired with:

  • 2009 Landmark Grand Detour Pinot Noir (Sonoma County, USA) - This wonderful wine exhibits black cherry and damson plum fruit flavours with underlying black tea, orange peel, and sandalwood aromas. Soft, ripe tannins and balanced acidity contribute to a long, elegant finish.

  • 2004 Golden Hawk Pinot Shiraz by Andraos Bros (Sunbury, VIC) - 55% Pinot Noir; 45% Shiraz. Ruby red colour. The nose displays excellent oak presence with raspberry and soft strawberry. It has a lovely, dry finish.
