The Pordenonelegge festival of literature is one of the most awaited festivals in Italy. It will take place for five days, precisely from the 17 to the 21 September this year. It is an example of excellence in cultural and event management. People from Italy and abroad will gathered to attend at the books premieres- and extras debates- of International authors.

Writers, journalists, critics, poets, philosophers, scientists and artists who have a cultural and influential power within the International community are invited to participate. Every year more than a hundred thousands of visitors come to the event to celebrate their favourite celebrity in the dedicated meetings and debates. There are circa 40 venues, sorted in cafes, restaurants, heritage buildings, libraries, government palaces and shops located around the urban precincts.

David Grossman, who will launch the 15th edition of the festival, Margaret Atwood, Umberto Eco, Jamaica Kincaid, Ulrich Beck are few of the guests that will be present at the literature exhibition.

The topics and section available and among which you can choose your literary path are:

Arts and architecture

High cultural conferences and lectio magistralis will be held by Art History Professors,curators and archaelogists.

  • Flavio Caroli teaches at the Milan Polytecnique Institute and he focuses his research on the introspective line of modern and contemporary art. The lesson will talk about the most important artists (Lorenzo Lotto, Correggio, Leonardo, Caravaggio that worked on psychology and physiognomy in the past centuries ad during the contemporary era.

  • Vittorio Sgarbi, a key man in Italian cultural and arts affairs, will give a talk on Antonio Sacchi, the painter from Pordenone celebrated in Giorgio Vasari in his "Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects ".

  • Fulvio dell'Agnese will moderate a debate on art criticisms and the relationship between the artist and the client. The event is organized by the Cultural Centre of Pordenone A. Zanussi.

  • Current events

    Conferences about the current economic crisis, finance policies, conflicts controversies, wine and food industry innovation and technology and much more are the core of the event. A group of European students will be present at the "Storytelling of wine and food" at the A. Zanussi Centre, within an International master program called "Youngs browsing the Territory".

    The "Hashtag" speech will be focussig on a connected country by social media. Marino Niola will present idyosincracies related to the use of those innovative web platforms.

    Other meetings on cultural roots, wellness and healthy lifestyle and on money, power and non-profit values will be firing the city up.

  • Teenagers' books and creative workshops.

  • Literature: books premiere and awards are going to be formally presented to the huge audience.

  • The map of feelings. A special program leading tellers on hate, love, jealousy, friendship, envy, fear, hope and happiness reasonings.

  • Poetry. Readings and awards will feature the agenda.

  • Science, philosophy and History. Dante, Greeks, Postmodernism, Post Humanism, Psychoanalysis , Buddha, Bible interpretation and Ronald Reagan figure are topics designed for sharp minds.

  • Words on Scene: writing reality, performances, dialogues, readings, music and comics.

  • Cocktails with authors, art exhibitions, reading marathons and conventions on family and pain therapy will extend the Festival further.
