When I first heard about , I instantly thought about fairy gardens, rainbows and pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. Poppyseed just seems like such a happy and other world word, so the stakes were high when I pulled up to investigate these hopefully magical markets. Although I wasn't greeted by a talking toad or real life gnome, the friendly people who did greet me did so with a smile and a balloon which is almost as good as the fairytale.



All of the stalls were beautifully decorated with obvious time and effort gone in to presenting these homemade products. All of the products on offer are Australian made, which is fantastic because it's always time to support local talent. Products range from some of the most delicate and interesting pieces of head ware to fun and decorated cupcakes. There are jewellery and clothes stalls to explore as well as giftware to admire, but that just scrapes the surface as there is much more on offer as well.



If you are a creative person yourself, with some homemade products, why not try your hand as a stall owner ? Who knows, the glass slipper might just fit perfectly.



These markets aren't really a man's domain, so leave your prince charming at home ladies. You will have more fun and he will have that much needed time to catch up on the wrestling on TV. If you've bagged yourself a gem he might even mow the lawn while you're out, no harm in suggesting it. If he begs to come and can't leave your side for a second because that's how devoted he is to you he can hang out at the BBQ where they put on a sausage sizzle at every market.

The are held on the weekend in multiple locations across NSW, so there is sure to be one near you. So spread that magic pixie dust and float on over to Poppyseed markets. There is a stall for everyone and it is a perfect place to pick up a unique present for your loved ones or more importantly, yourself. After all, everyone deserves to be treated like a princess every now and then.
