Watch Shakespeare like a Londoner in 1614
A full-scale temporary working replica of the Globe Theatre, where Shakespeare's greatest plays were first performed, is popping up in Melbourne and will be showcasing Shakespeare's best as they were meant to be seen.
From 21 September 2017 until 12 November 2017, the Pop-up Globe will putting on performances of Shakespeare's most famous plays at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne's Kings Domain.
Pop-up Globe will be the world's first full-scale temporary working replica of the second Globe (the first was destroyed by fire in 1613 and was replaced by the second, which was rebuilt by Shakespeare and his company and became one of the greatest theatres in history).
Shakespeare's dramas, comedies and action scenes will be reproduced on its stage; complete with special effects, elaborate costumes and dancing, as well as outstanding acting of course!
Witness Much Ado About Nothing, Henry V, As You Like It, Othello and Around The Globe In 60 Minutes as Londoners did in 1614.
Tickets for each show can be booked individually from $20.33, or you can book two or more shows to save 20% on the ticket price or all five shows to save 25% on the ticket price.
You won't ever be far from the action in the intimate theatre, but if you really want to be amidst the action, you can get a 'Groundlings' ticket. With this ticket you will be standing in the yard under the stars right in front of the stage and interacting with the actors as the excitement unfolds.
Other seating options include a lower gallery and middle gallery, which are covered, as well as VIP Royal Rooms on the actual stage if you wish to remove yourself from the commoners and be up close and personal with the actors.
