Pop Art is a modern form of Art works made from cultural icons, commercial items and advertisements. This Art movement emerged in the mid to late 1950s and set to challenge Fine Art with its celebration of fairly familiar ideas that were quite standard in their content. Pop Art has built its distinctive style on both abstract art and commercial advertising. Using printing techniques reproducing borrowed images, Pop Art became very popular during the post war consumer boom alongside the introduction of Pop music. It was all about being young, energetic and antagonistic to the mainstream Art world.

Spanning three decades this Exhibition will present over 200 works of Art covering one complete floor at the Art Gallery. Works sourced from 35 lenders from around the world including the famous Roy Lichtenstein's In The Car, Andy Warhol's Triple Elvis and David Hockney's Portrait Of An Artist just to name a few.
