If you haven't already heard, we have a long weekend coming up which brings a fantastic opportunity to head to the Hills for a full weekend of POP Market. The long weekend market will be followed by winter markets in June and July, and while the Adelaide Hills are a fantastic day trip destination, let's face it the Hills are simply stunning in winter!
If you are planning a day in the Hills, make it a day that the fabulous Hahndorf POP Market is on. There are plenty of dates to choose from with the POP Market open two days on the long weekend as well as their normal opening days.
Make it a POP Market weekend on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June, then come along back to pick up those things you missed on Sunday 20 June and again on Sunday 18 July 2021.
You will find the POP Market located in the Hahndorf Memorial Institute, 59 Mount Barker Road, Hahndorf, from 11 am to 4 pm on each day as well as on the third Sunday of each month throughout the year.
Along with all your favourite suppliers, the winter markets also bring yummy warming winter foods (and well, just yummy foods) such as macarons and pastries.
More information about the POP Market can be found at my article on the
2021 POP Market .
Every market, has genuinely unique products on offer and with the market focussing on South Australian artisans, you know that your purchase has been handmade and created with love with profits going back into South Australia.
While going to market is a great activity, if you cannot get there or love to shop from home, the POP Market website provides links to fantastic South Australian businesses that you can contact to make your purchase.
COVID safe measures are in place, such as individual entry and exit doors and a COVID marshall, enabling you can to shop in comfort. Please check in on the SA Government COVID-Safe App when you arrive, wear your mask and social distance.
Hahndorf is Australia's oldest surviving German settlement with bakeries, pubs, small goods stores, German food stores, restaurants and cafes. Why not make your visit more than a stroll around the market, but a whole day adventure as you set out to explore and support our local businesses and artisans. While you can get your treats from the POP Market to take home, one of my favourite lunch locations is the
German Inn .
Entry to the market is free and public transport is available to Hahndorf from Adelaide. Parking in Hahndorf is simple although can be a little busy at peak times. On street parking is available either on Main Street or on side streets or there is a car park at one end of town if you don't mind a short walk. Disabled access available.
