Motto: Have a plan and be prepared.
Event:

Sometimes to find the best treasure, you must go on something of a quest; a treasure hunt, if you will. It's amazing how little towns, way off the beaten track, can produce some of the most exciting little finds. The Poowong Antiques and Collectables Fair is once such find.

For lovers of vintage, retro, antique and old-wares, Poowong is the perfect setting for an antique and collectables fair. With so much unspoiled landscape, rolling hills and quaint main street, you might almost feel as though you have been transported back in time.

A small, diary farming town in South Gippsland, Poowong has a grand population of less than 600 people is located roughly 111kms from Melbourne and about 8kms North-west of Korumburra.

It is here, you will find the quite sizeable Poowong Antiques and Collectables Fair on Sunday 15th May 2016 in the Poowong Public Hall, Nyora Road, Poowong, from 9am 3pm. Adult entry is $2 and children are free.

The Poowong and Korumburra areas are rich with natural history. There is plenty to see and do on an easy-going Sunday afternoon, not least Coal Creek in Korumburra. With free entry, it's well worth a visit.

Poowong is a low-key area both in real life and online so to find more information you'll need to do a little online pre-treasure treasure hunting. To help get you started, you'll find the link to the Poowong Antique and Collectable Fair here, and the Poowong Historical Group Facebook Page, with more information about the market and the town, here.
