This manufacturing exposé by Paul Midler is an interesting read. In his extensive career as a middle man between American companies and Chinese factories, Midler gives a confronting account of the business. He has seen many tactics and played mind games with cunning factory owners.

Midler's experiences are knitted together into an overarching narrative guiding you from the sweet to souring of a business relationship. He provides interesting facts and ideas about what happens behind the factory's closed doors. It's truly shocking and will make you think twice about using certain products.

Made in China is not simply a place of production label. It is a production game and even production war. There are casualties, extreme measures and sacrifices on both sides. Compromise, strategies and peace talks are all involved when both parties butt heads.

Made in China is everywhere. In your work place, in every shop, and in your own home. You have to read "Poorly Made in China" with a grain of salt. There are reasons why there are good products and bad products that come out of China. As consumers of Chinese products and global consumers, it is really important that we think about how the products are manufactured. China could be any country that does not have the same level of manufacturing regulations as Australia.

In short "Poorly Made in China" is an enveloping insight into Chinese manufacturing. Product manufacturing is no less than a fierce battlefield. A great read that gets you thinking about what the products that we consume everyday cost us.
