Pony Dining, The Rocks

On a recent visit to Sydney I had lunch at Pony Dining. This restaurant is in the heart of
The Rocks , on the corner of Argyle Place and Kendall Lane.
Inside
Pony Dining is spacious, with warm wood-tone décor, stacked logs and cow-hide furnishings. A large, open kitchen further enhances this warm ambience. Service was friendly and efficient. I really got a sense of the early days, especially when I sat outside at the long table, facing Kendall Lane — Sydney's oldest cobblestone lane. Great for people watching, too.
The menu includes a variety of share-plate options (perfect for the long table), as well as seafood and pasta dishes. Meat lovers are well catered for with several choices available from the wood-fire grill. Prices range from: Entrée and share plates $9–$25, mains $24–$40, and steak by weight $24–$80. Pony Dining has a fantastic wine list, too, either by the glass or bottle.
I had the following dishes: ½ dozen Oysters (Natural), Grilled Chorizo with tomato and chilli jam, Roasted Pork Belly with shaved fennel; washed down with a glass (or two) of Spanish sparkling wine.
My only regret is that I didn't stay for dessert.
