It's not often I see a one-person show - even at an event like Fringe - so walking into the Goodwill Club at The Rechabite in Perth I wasn't entirely sure what I would see.
The show opens and Poncho (Dani Cabs) bursts onto the stage in a sea of orange and a big zest for life. Poncho describes himself as a Latino-Australian - 'a lover of the womans and the mans'.
What followed this opening was an hour of sensual yet consensual, absurd and hilarious journey of storytelling and physical humour. Poncho is even joined by a couple of alter personalities - including a true blue Aussie with an impressive mullet (wig) and a lady oozing with sexuality.
Poncho's Latino pronunciations of the English language can be funny at times, especially when talking about his mum and sister. There is a couple of funny moments with an orange, a banana and a carrot!
Now I have to be honest here - this show wasn't really to my taste. There were moments that I was smiling and even a few moments of giggling, but overall not for me. The rest of the smallish audience was very much on-board with the presentation - even the audience participation was done with gusto.
If you are looking for a show heavy with sexual innuendo, then this is the show for you.
