Do your tastebuds a favour and head to Pompidou Cafe
When you visit the Balmoral/Bulimba area it is hard to decide which restaurant to try. But nestled in the leafy suburb of Balmoral along Riding Road is Pompidou Cafe, a cute dining experience offering a delicious twist on European cuisines.
It is also said to offer the best coffee in town - I guess you will just have to try it out for yourself and see if this testimonial stands up.
My friend and I went there a few weekends ago for lunch but I think I would love to go back and take it for a test run at breakfast. Coconut french toast, carrot and chickpea pancakes and grilled parmesan polenta anyone? They just sound so exotic that I would love to try them all just once.
My dining companion took a chance with one of the specials, choosing a chicken and haloumi concoction that she enjoyed - she has a thing for haloumi at the moment.
We were heading to the movies afterwards down the road so skipped dessert, but there were some delicious-looking cakes in the window. The cafe is also fully licensed.
There is seating inside and out and the staff were very efficient and friendly, which is exactly what you want. I would highly recommend popping into Pompidou the next time you are in this area to try some amazing dishes.
