The WA Maritime Museum will be opening its doors on Friday the 29th of September from 6pm to 9pm for a special event called Pompeii After Dark: an Italian Inspired Night.
For just $25 you will be able to see their exhibition spaces transformed into an after-dark playground. The lighting will be low, the bar will be open, music will be playing and an antipasto platter will be provided to guests upon arrival. This amazing offer also includes entry to the Museum's latest exhibition Escape from Pompeii: The untold Roman Rescue.
This exciting exhibition tells the story of how one of the greatest natural disasters in history unfolded, through personal eyewitness accounts and a display of rare archaeological artefacts. Hear the story of how the Roman Navy tried to evacuate people affected by the eruption.
Pliny the Younger, the nephew of the commander of the fleet, was there when it all happened and saw his uncle in action. What he observed and experienced is now part of an amazing museum exhibition.
Pompeii After Dark: an Italian Inspired Night will be for people aged 18 years and older (ID may be requested on entry). A cash bar will be available on the night and there will be Italian inspired light food available for purchase.
Space is limited so make sure you book now. Photography will be encouraged on the night. Share your photos online with the hashtags #WAMuseum #PompeiiAfterDark @WAMuseum
