Flowers can make any day seem better, so I was glad to see a new florist open in the Ashgrove Shopping Centre. Pollen at Ashgrove opened on 7 November 2016 replacing the former Magnolia Florist which was on the same site. The team at Pollen at Ashgrove source and supply fresh, fragrant and exotic blooms, gifts and homewares. They cater for all events and occasions from intimate dinners, to extravagant weddings or events or the chance to grab a beautiful bunch of flowers just because.
On the day of my visit, it was impossible to ignore a bunch of the always pretty and perfectly pink peonies that were smiling in the window. They sat alongside a group of low maintenance, living plants houses in glass terrariums which are easy for the lazy or "I always kill plants" gardener.
With an eye on Christmas and the inevitable challenge of finding gifts, I was pleased to find that Pollen offer a range of hampers and add-ons with enticing names like Goo Goo Ga Ga ($150) for the kids, edible decadence ($150) with a selection of savoury and sweet items or Mister Entertainer ($130) a selection of boutique beers, nibbles and all the essentials for the perfect gift for him. Pollen deliver products across Brisbane from $12.00.
This is the second "Pollen" store and is a companion to its Fortitude Valley shop in Brunswick Street adding a second dose of colour to your life. More information available at www.pollenatashgrove.com.au
