Event:

The Dozynki Polish Harvest Festival is celebrating its 30th event and you and your family are invited to join in the many festivities!

Held on Sunday 23rd of October, 2016 at Polonia Croydon Kings Soccer Oval, this all-day event will bring a little bit of Poland to Adelaide with a wide range of cultural performances, interactive activities and delicious Polish dishes to enjoy!

Throughout the day, there will be much to see, do and explore - some of the festival highlights include -

  • The Food Tent will play host to the winners of My Kitchen Rules, Sammy & Bella, as well as local star chef, Judyta Slupnicki, as seen on SBS's Iron Chef and Food Safari! Come and discover the very best of Polish cuisine!

  • Polish Folk Dance Group 'Tatry' will perform for festival-goers and will be joined by 'Wisła' from Brisbane

  • Main stage entertainment includes Beata Wald, winner of Poland's equivalent of "The X Factor", Les Gitans Blancs and the PolHun Quintet!

  • The Arts Tent will showcase a wide variety of art with live demonstrations of Portraiture and String Art

  • The always popular wheat Snopek Tossing Competition and Pierogi Eating Competition return!

  • Enjoy a Polish beer and the smooth sounds of DJ Herbert and Monika Antosik on the accordion in the Beer Tent

There will also be great activities for the kids, including an animal farm, Police cars, carnival amusements, free balloons, a puppet show and puppet-making classes!

First held in 1979, this major cultural event has attracted over 100,000 people over the years. Organisers note that in 1856, the first Poles settled near Clare and 160 years later, they hope they are doing them proud by continuing to showcase the rich and diverse Polish culture and cuisine to the wider community.

All are welcome to attend - entry is priced at $10 per person (kids under 15 years are FREE).
