A day to learn something of Polish culture & their people
Poland has a rich history where customs have been influenced by the Slavic, Byzantine and Ottoman cultures. Being of Christian Faith, Polish people celebrate Easter, Christmas along with uniquely Polish holidays like Constitution Day and their Independence Day. Modern day Poland continues its traditions and customs with vibrant festivals and traditional performances.
On Saturday 12th October 2019, The Polish Club is hosting a Polish Club Market Day at the Club's premises in Milton. The event commences at 9.30am through to 1.00pm. If you would like to learn more about the culture and take home some yummy traditional Polish food, arts and crafts, join the crowds at 12 Marie Street, Milton.
As with any festive Polish occasion, you will see many dressed in their national colourful costumes. Each costume is decorated and represent different parts of Poland. As well, single ladies are seen with flower wreaths and ribbons in their hair, whereas married women wear white kerchiefs.
The object of the Polish Club in Brisbane is to assist citizens and immigrants of Polish origin in their new country of residence to understand the Australian culture and way of life, to assist with language, social difficulties as well as keeping their own language and culture alive.
Bring your friends and family to a celebratory event; you are most welcome to stay and relax in the restaurant enjoying the Polish hospitality. For more information, please contact 07 3369 2747.
