Police Blue Ribbon Day coincides with National Police Remembrance Day and will be held on Sunday 29th September 2019.
This special day is a chance for the community to say thank you to Victoria Police officers who risk their lives serving and protecting the community and to remember those that have died in the line of duty.
Although nothing can bring them back, we can honour their memory and sacrifice through a range of projects that benefit the wider community.
There are many ways for us to support and be part of Blue Ribbon Day. You can
donate to the Blue Ribbon Day Appeal, with funds going to building new and improved emergency facilities in Victorian hospitals that are then named in memory of the fallen. You can donate online or via Australia Post outlets or Bunnings stores.
You can also wear a blue ribbon as a symbol of your remembrance of the 164 police officers who have fallen and of your support. These can purchase from the
online store and are available from some Australia Post stores and Victorian Police Stations.
You can also attend a memorial service at the Victoria Police Memorial - Kings Domain Gardens, to honour the dedicated men and women who have died serving their community. The service will be held following a march and parade that will commence at 10am from Princes Bridge along St Kilda Road to the Victoria Police Memorial.
The day will also be recognised with services across the state. Click
here for a list of regional services that will be held.
